TEDRA COBB
|
ABOUT TEDRA A native of Canton, Tedra made her bones as the founder of a home health care agency. In this role, Tedra secured state and federal funding for North Country families who couldn't afford health insurance. Eager to continue the fight for these families, Tedra ran for St. Lawrence County legislator in 2001 and was elected. While in office, Tedra worked with community service providers, business owners, farmers, educators, tradespeople, and her fellow Legislators to continue her fight for those same hard-working North Country families. After eight years in the legislature, Tedra founded her second business: Tedra Cobb & Associates. Here she applies her skills in problem-solving, strategic planning and coaching to help people in private businesses, not-for profit organizations, hospitals and universities to communicate, collaborate and reach across the aisle to get things done.
WHY TEDRA IS RUNNINGTedra made her decision to run for Congress the day the 21st district’s current representative voted for the highly partisan American Healthcare Act. If that law had passed in the Senate, the people of New York’s 21st congressional district would have been economically devastated. Thousands of healthcare workers would have lost their jobs, many of the region’s hospitals could have closed and 83,000 people in Upstate NY would have lost their health insurance. Healthcare is Tedra's passion and she intends to fight for North Country families' access to quality healthcare services.
