STEFANIK BETRAYS DEMOCRACY; NYS DEM LEADER CALLS FOR HER RESIGNATION
1/4/21
NEW YORK, NY: Jay S. Jacobs, Chairman of the New York State Democratic Committee, has released the following statement:
"I am today calling for the resignation from office of Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-Schuylerville). In my more than 19 years as a party chairman I cannot remember a time that I have called upon a Republican or Democratic official to resign – even when under indictment – as I have always felt that one is innocent until proven guilty. Through her statement today indicating her intention to support the effort to contest the legitimately certified electors in the 2020 Presidential race, Congresswoman Stefanik has thrown in her lot with those colleagues who seek to violate their Constitutional oath to “protect and defend” the Constitution by seeking to overthrow the legitimately elected incoming President of the United States."
"Congresswoman Stefanik knows that there are NO “contested electors” for her to oppose as every state, under THEIR Constitutional obligation, has certified the legitimacy of the electors now being sent to the Congress. Similarly, she knows that there has not been presented any unrefuted and discredited evidence of any massive voter fraud in any state that she is going to challenge. She knows that there are NO “serious questions” as to the legitimacy of the electors that she will seek to challenge. Her statement alleging that she is seeking to defend democracy is a sham – and she knows it, thus violating her oath of office. By her own words, she has discredited the office that she holds, has violated the oath that she has taken and has embarrassed the district and entire state that she purports to serve."

FORMER CONGRESSMAN BILL OWENS ENDORSES NICOLE DUVE FOR SLC JUDGE
10/1/20
ORIGINALLY POSTED ON NORTHCOUNTRYNOW.COM

To the Editor:
I am writing to express my support for Nicole Duve for St. Lawrence County Judge. The importance of having well qualified people who have the right judicial temperament is most important in making a decision whether or not to elect an individual to that position.
My career, which began as a defense attorney with the Judge Advocate General's Office of the Air Force, and continued through private practice, with Ron Stafford and Judge John Lahtinen, among my partners and ultimately, culminated in my election to Congress in 2009, was impacted by many good judges.
Nicole's thirty years of experience working as a prosecutor, defense attorney, town judge and law clerk to county court judges has provided her with an extraordinary level of experience, and depth to bring to the bench as she has worked every role in the courts and has been able to watch numerous judges and lawyers perform those same roles.
This is the type and breadth of experience which is essential to being a competent and fair Judge. I have known Nicole for a number of years, and believe that her intellect and temperament make her appropriately suited to the bench.
It is also important to note that as someone who was A rated by the NRA while in office, that I know from discussions with Nicole that she has an appropriate understanding of the 2nd Amendment, and believes residents of St. Lawrence County deserve the equal opportunity to obtain an unrestricted pistol license that residents across the county line also have.
I know that she shares my strong support for the 2nd Amendment, and I look forward to seeing her on the bench and administering justice to the people of St. Lawrence County. I encourage you to vote for Nicole for St. Lawrence County Court Judge on Nov. 3, 2020.

MY BROTHER, A RETIRED MARINE, IS NOT A LOSER OR A SUCKER
ORIGINALLY FROM NORTHCOUNTRYNOW.COM
9/15/20
To the Editor:
My brother is S/Sgt Daniel William George, a retired US Marine from the Mohawk Territory of Akwesasne. He served with the Corps from 1972-1992. He was one of the last Marines assigned to Viet Nam and survived combat during the Gulf War-Desert Storm where his job as a frontline photographer placed him at the highest risk.
He was ordered to record the invasion of Iraq by allied forces as well as photographing the petrochemical fires set by Saddam Hussein during his retreat; as such he was witness to the devastation brought upon the Iraqi military by the power of the American army. He has endured grave illnesses caused by his exposure to those infernos.
While current US President Trump may refer to him as a "loser" or a "sucker" he is neither. He is an honored combat veteran held in the highest esteem by the Mohawk people.
His family and community calls upon US Rep. Stefanik to condemn in the harshest words possible the insults Trump has thrown at all veterans including former US Senator John McCain. My brother had the bravery to defend this country-she should have the guts to stand with him and all other vets against an infamous draft dodger.
Should she fail to show this act of moral courage and defend all US military personnel she does not deserve reelection. Her silence in this instance will not be forgotten or forgiven by my family or the people of Akwesasne.

NICOLE DUVE RECEIVES TWO KEY POLICE ENDORSEMENTS FOR COUNTY COURT JUDGE
CANTON POLICE ASSOCIATION ENDORSES DUVE FOR ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY JUDGE
8/20/20
ORIGINALLY FROM NORTHCOUNTRYNOW.COM
Nicole Duvé has been endorsed by the Canton Police Association to be the next St. Lawrence County Court judge.
The Association announcement said “Duvé’s 30 years of experience working in the criminal justice system as a prosecutor, town judge, defense attorney and court attorney/law clerk for the county court, has provided her with vast knowledge and experience no other candidate has.”
It goes on to state “Nicole is a fair and honest, hardworking person who would effectively perform the duties of County Court Judge and would assure the fair administration of justice which would serve the residents of St. Lawrence County well. The Canton Police Association truly believes Nicole Duve is the only qualified candidate for St. Lawrence County Court Judge.”
“I truly appreciate the Canton Police Association’s endorsement. These hard-working officers know first-hand how important it is to have a judge with experience sitting on the County Court bench and there is no substitute for the experience I’ve gained over years of doing felony jury trials, preparing vulnerable witnesses to testify at trial and grand jury, and working for the court system to get the work of County Court done,” said Duvé.
Currently serving as principal law clerk in the St. Lawrence County Court, Duvé is running to fill the seat left vacant by County Court Judge Jerome J. Richards upon his retirement.

STEFANIK LYING TO HER CONSTITUENTS, SAYS COLTON RESIDENT
7/21/20
(ORIGINALLY pOSTED ON NORTHCOUNTRYNOW.COM)
At the Back the Blue rally in St. Lawrence County, Stefanik lied to her supporters about her political opponent, Tedra Cobb. She said, “I have an opponent who supports defunding the police” (Watertown Daily Times July 19, 2020).
That is not true! In June, Cobb stated, “’First and foremost I do not support defunding the police,’ Cobb wrote in an email. ‘But I do think we need reforms. . .’ Cobb has not released public statements on these [Congressional police reform] bills, but the Stefanik campaign sent out press releases with assumptions of what Cobb’s opinions are.” Stefanik didn’t respond to that reporter’s request for comments (The Adirondack Daily Enterprise, June 30, 2020).
The article is easily found on the web, so you can read for yourself details about Ms. Cobb’s positions on police reform, and her clear statement that she “[does] not support defunding the police.” Cobb’s campaign confirmed to me that her position has not changed.
Stefanik is lying to her own constituents, mirroring her mentor Trump’s style of fear tactics and boldfaced lies.
Tedra Cobb probably understands local law enforcement better than Stefanik does. Cobb worked inside of prisons and was a volunteer firefighter. Nationwide, we do need reforms: the rates at which Black Americans are detained, arrested, hurt and killed by police are horrific and must change. We must come together to stop dangerous practices for the good of everyone. Our own St. Lawrence County Sherriff Bigwarfe is already willingly working to meet new state standards (North Country This Week, July 14, 2020).
And where is Elise Stefanik? She is lying to us, the voters, in order to scare us and divide us. The truth is that law enforcement officers are not under attack, and Tedra Cobb does not want to defund the police. We deserve an honest, responsible, balanced representative in Congress, and that is Tedra Cobb.

ELISE STEFANIK BROKE HOUSE ETHICS RULES & STEFANIK VOTERS GROW WEARY OF HER RECENT CONDUCT
2/28/2020
Yahoo News broke a story today that reveals that Stefanik violated House Ethics rules by using official floor proceedings in fundraising appeal(s) for her election campaign. A formal complaint has been filed with the House Ethics Committee. To put it simply, she used taxpayer funds to raise money for her re-election.

The Conversationalist published an excellent piece on this district and the differences between Stefanik and Tedra. We were really happy to see the author quote some reformed Stefanik voters who seem pretty upset with her recent conduct.
